Never done one of these before.. but here goes. :) Sort of late to be adding this since I joined awhile ago. Better late than never?

After graduation I went to WAZZU and got a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a husband (Pete). Never was able to get a job as an engineer, the market was horrible when I graduated. Hubby did though, and its worked out just fine. We've been married now for 14 years, and are expecting our first child...ah, any day now, actually. :) If the ultrasounds are right, its a girl. Bit old for this first time mom thing, but it seems to be the Lord's plan, and I'm glad He knows what He is doing, because I generally don't have a clue. ;)

I volunteer alot at our church, and I also am an archer. Mostly for fun, though I do compete and teach as well. I shoot the Olypmic style, which is basically a somewhat fancy recurve. My husband shoots traditional. And we play around with robots for fun too. We live near Orting, WA, for those of you who have any clue as to where that might be. About 15 miles as the crow flies from Mt Rainier.

Guess I'll have to post again once our little one has arrived. :)

wow! kristina! you sound awesome!
when i saw you face in the gallery i remembered you as a brilliant, traditional, and quiet, nice girl...friends with "tall kristie"...in file with her and other gals like krista burris.
i like the glib way you write. your likfe in a nutshell sounds pefectly wonderful! and i know my orting....i'm a huge tahoma fan, diffenately one of the biggest things i miss in my world down south here, (austin, texas, (the A. T. X.!))(to be specific) i went to summer camp every year since fifth grade to a paradise of a place called Pleasant Valley (christian camp) i was even a counselor there many times.....those were the very best times of my life on this planet!!.....!!
my "little" brother, steve, aka: "joe the bartender" on that hit tv show, Greys Anatomy, aka: "my big, fat, obnoxious fieance" was just telling me that other day that he's all into archery these days, started flinging 'round all that lingo and told me that he did that thing,..what's it called??? when you shoot one arrow right down the other???..(in this case purely by chance, not a bullseye or nuthin') ...it really lit a spark in me and now your here fanin' it!
and if you haven't had your baby yet, i just got one thing to say...PPPUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and if you have, smell the back of its neck as often as you can, there's nothing like it and it wont last long! (my friend told me 'bout that, i'm still puttin' it off, too!) congrats!!
did i mention my band, RUBBER ROBOT???( experimental, instramental,(no offensive lyrics, no rgretable influence on the young ones), sci-fi, space-rock)(www.myspace.com/rubberrobot (not rubberobot- some other folk band from virginia, i guess) and www.rubberrobot.net) time for a little R & R!

Hey Edy! Its great to hear from you. :) I read your blog as well, and it sounds like you've got some interesting hobbies yourself. Your reply made me blush and laugh all at the same time. I didn't know you were a Christian as well, but that is great. And I /love/ the look of the handcrafted books. I went to the rubber robot web site, and I think my brother would love your music. I'll have to be sure to send him to the site.

Archery is a blast. So does that 'spark' mean you want to give it a go as well? As I understand it, there are a lot of archery groups down in Texas. I was actually born there, south of Houston, and lived there until I was 12. I still have family there, including my parents in Tyler. The shot your brother made is called a 'robin hood'. I've done it too, by accident. I don't mind doing it once, but more often than that it gets expensive! ;) A shame you don't live up here, I'd give you some lessons if you wanted to take up the sport.

The baby isn't here yet, though its to the point of 'any day now'. I hope sooner than later, because it looks like she's going to be a big girl. I'll be sure to take both of your suggestions. ;)

I noticed the Japanese on the official Rubber Robot site. Nihongo wo hanashimasu ka?

Somewhere I have a picture of the 'roaring 20's' dance we went to. If I ever find it I'll post it. Talk about a bunch of 'baby faces'!

See you around. :)

Good luck on the upcoming delivery! Remember, no matter what happens, the end goal is a healthy baby and if you walk away with that, nothing matters (if you can still walk :) I'm glad to hear you're doing so well. Hang in there, and Ed's right, they lose that new baby smell after a few months, so enjoy it while it lasts! But don't worry, there's plenty of other good stuff to enjoy even when they get stinky! Hey Krista. :)

I agree about the healthy baby, and at this size I hope it means she is. I'm due in 6 days and had my appointment today. Nothing happening. Ah well. If she goes for the next two weeks (my doctor will only let me be one week late) she'll probably be over 10 lbs. Seems she takes after my hubby who was a 10lb 10oz baby himself. I hope that at least means she'll be tall. ;)

How are you doing? Its so great to hear from you.
